Meet the Team

Dr. John Bui, OD, FAAO

Dr. Bui received his Doctor of Optometry from the School of Optometry at U.C. Berkeley. He received his bachelor degree from U.C. Berkeley in Integrative Biology. After optometry school, Dr. Bui ventured to SUNY College of Optometry, where he pursued a residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation and Ocular Disease. It was in New York where Dr. Bui developed his passion for not only low vision and ocular disease, but for myopia control through Orthokeratology. In addition, Dr. Bui developed his optometric skills through head trauma rehabilitation and vision therapy. During his residency, Dr. Bui also trained to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
 
Dr. Bui is highly trained and experienced optometrist who has been intimately involved in Orthokeratology using the latest innovative therapeutic design of contact lenses working to improve vision especially on young children with great success. In addition to myopia control, Dr. Bui also has interests in ocular disease, low vision, head trauma, and vision therapy. Dr. Bui believes that a well-rounded and lifelong learning approach to vision care is paramount to working with individuals of all ages, lifestyles, and personalities.

His caring and passionate personality provides patients with Orthokeratology to improve functional vision and provide the freedom to see without glasses or contact lenses.

Outside of his private practice and taking care of the Bay Area population, Dr. Bui enjoys volunteering with his mission trip organization to provide free eye exams across the United States and countries abroad. He enjoys being surrounded by nature: his latest travel adventure brought him to his home country of Vietnam this past summer. Finally, he also enjoys running, swimming, visiting new restaurants, and checking out music concerts in the Bay Area.

All in all, Dr. Bui believes that educating the public with the importance of maintaining good eye health is crucial to prevent any eye disease. He takes great pride in providing the highest quality vision care to his patients.
